I’m Nicholas Sideras, I curate and publish all of the content here. Riding bikes is a multi-generational part of my family1 so even while growing up it wasn’t uncommon to use a bike to get around, especially to avoid all the parking and traffic at the July 3rd lakefront fireworks. As an adult, the downtime of 2020 led to me getting back to cycling as a mode of transportation around Milwaukee, for things like school transportation, errands, commuting, or meeting up with friends.
I’m a pretty active participant in a few different riding groups here in Milwaukee. Every few months, the same question would come up: “How can people find other bike groups?”
Some of us attempted the Sisyphean effort of maintaining a shared document of groups we could remember but we knew it was only a small handful. Resources like the Wisconsin Bike Fed listed larger events or more formal groups in the area, but a lot of the more casual clubs were only something you’d discover through word of mouth. Even with a social media account, if “Milwaukee” wasn’t specifically in the name, the group might not be easily found by someone new to the city.
So in the spring of 2026 when I had a few free evenings, I started sorting through all the groups I followed on social media. This was enough to start a pretty large list of bike ride groups here in Milwaukee. From there I kept adding on every time I heard about a new group, and that ultimately led to MilwaukeeBikeRides.com. This list isn’t complete, and it definitely isn’t an event calendar, but I’m glad to finally have an answer for people trying to find the community that’s going to be a good fit for them.
If you notice a group that’s missing or have an update for me, the easiest way to get in touch is by messaging @MilwaukeeBikeRides on instagram. The reposts tab of the instagram account is also a good way to get updates about upcoming rides and other cycling events in Milwaukee.
I hand-verify all the information I’m posting here to make sure this is a useful resource for people in the Milwaukee area, and do my best to seasonally confirm active groups2. Remember that I’m just running a directory, so the best source of information will always be on a group’s own website, social media account, or other links you’ll find on a group’s listing page.
My hope is that this site can serve as an introduction to the rides listed here. Each group has their own approach towards having a good time on a bicycle with your neighbors, and I hope you find one (or two, or five,) that are right for you.

Me, at Milwaukee’s Riverwest 24 bike race, wearing a ‘Build Protected Bike Lanes’ crop top from the Bike Fed. Milwaukee is building a lot of them (PBLs, not crop tops) these days!
Ask me for the story about my dad paying us kids per mile to ride bikes when I was younger ↩︎
Each group page has a “Last Updated” date on the bottom showing the last time I published an update to the page. This helps you know how current the listing is. Ideally the date is in the current year once we get into spring. ↩︎
